Vanaprastha (Elder) Forum

“One should spend the last part of life in meditating deeply most of the time; and, through the wisdom and spirituality thus acquired, in rendering social and spiritual service to others.”

-Paramahansa Yogananda

Vanaprastha stage of life

Vanaprastha is the stage in life when many mature devotees feel drawn to begin stepping back from outer activities to focus more deeply on their spiritual life. To serve this community, the Vanaprastha program team will facilitate an online forum for collective dialogue, networking, and shared learning.

Supporting devotees in vanaprastha

The Vanaprastha program seeks to develop programs and strategies that help meet the needs of devotees of retirement age, and to interest devotees around the world in developing their own plans and projects to meet these needs in their devotee communities.

Program elements in development

Currently the Vanaprastha Team is conducting small focus groups around the world to build a sense of community and discover what is most important to this age group. The team will use this information to develop a much wider online survey. Look for the survey by the end of 2020.
